St. Croan’s

Our U-10 team were defeated by Oran in the A final of the Oran tournament on Sunday last. A solid opening half in which both sets of defences were on top was highlighted by a Darragh Gunning goal to leave St. Croan’s leading by 1-3 to 0-2 at half time. The second half was a fascinating battle between the two teams and when Mike Keane goaled late on Croan’s looked set for victory and with time almost up led by three points. However, an injury time surge by Oran resulted in the scoring of two goals to leave the final scoreline of Oran 3-8 to St. Croan‚s 2-8. Despite of the disappointment at losing the final the entire squad can be very proud of the way they performed throughout the tournament and in the final some players showed that they will represent St. Croan’s for many years to come. Thank to the hosts, Oran, once again for the invitation to compete. Congratulations to them on their professional organisation of the entire tournament. Looking forward to playing in it again next year. On Sunday next St. Croan’s Intermediate team begin their quest for championship honours when they play Eire óg in Castlerea at 6p.m. It is hoped to see a large support for the team on the day best of luck to all players and management.
