Ballymoe - Boystown Players stage extra performance
Due to great success Ballymoe Boystown Drama Players will stage one extra performance of ‘Many young men of Twenty’ on Wednesday, April 6th in the Fr. Flanagan Memorial Centre, Ballymoe starting at 8.30 p.m.. A show not to be missed.
Community Games
The U-13 boys basketball team lost narrowly on Saturday evening last in the semi-final to Kiltoom/ Cam. Despite being understrength for this game they put up a great battle throughout, but sadly had to relinquish the title which won last year. U-16 boys basketball team are due to play on this Saturday at 10 a.m. in Strokestown. U-14 quiz will be held in Athleague Community Centre on this Saturday at 8 p.m.. Two teams nominated to attend are as follows. Team 1: Maurice Connaughton, Ross Timothy, Colin Sirr and Adrian Collins. Team 2: Gordan Pennick, Grainne Tarmey, Diane Kenny and Linda Lambert.
Ballymoe F.C
Training for the U-10 panel will take place in the sportsfield, Ballymoe at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9th. Players are reminded to come along with their football gear on them and ready to start at 11.30 a.m. sharp.
Kilcroan Cemetery
Spring is here and it’s time to go back to work in the cemetery. It is hoped to start next Sunday, April 10th at 2 p.m. Rota is as follows: Men Gerry Mahon, Niall McNamara, Eamonn Finnegan, Pat Duignan, James Duignan, Padraic Connelly, Johnny McDermott, P.J. Swift, Luke Mitchell, Tony Murray, Patrick O‚Brien. Women: Margaret Tarmey, Jacinta Colleran, Helen Mitchell, Kathleen Devine, Caroline Hegarty, Geraldine Kelly, Bernadette McTague.
Ballymoe Lotto
There was no winner of the Ballymoe Lotto. 22, 24, 26 and 27 were the numbers drawn. 5 X €20 winners were Ian Lambe, Williamstown; Glenn Reid, Kilcooley; Miss Seelie, Boystown Players; Mark Hynes, Leamore; Brian Crean. The next draw will be held in Paddy Os on Friday, April 15th. The lotto will be promoted by Carmel Waldron and Fidelma Croghan next weekend.
St. Croans
There was no winner of last week’s lotto. Next weekend the lotto jackpot of €2,150 will be promoted by Tommy Timothy and John Collins in Ballymoe and by Tommy Grogan and Benny O’Connell in Ballintubber.
Spring Fayre
A Spring Fayre and auction in aid of Castlerea branch of the County Roscommon Association for the Mentally Handicapped will be held on Sunday, April 10th at 2 p.m. in St. Michael’s School Castlerea. All are welcome. Please support. For auction will be a spring lamb, a farm gate, televisions and electrical goods, original painting and crafts, etc, etc. Other attractions include wheel of fortune, bouncy castle, face painting, games, novelty races, etc.
Community Centre
Groups, clubs or individuals wishing to use the hall or meeting room are asked to contact any committee member with details of dates and times required. Enquiries may also be made at the community office in the Fr. Flanagan Memorial Centre between 9.30 a.m. And 1 p.m. at 094 9655488.
Development Office
The Ballymoe Development Centre Community Office will be open Monday Friday 9.00 a.m. to 1p.m. Please note that all notices for the papers are to be left into the office before 11 a.m. Mondays.
