THERE has been a good deal of interest shown in this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade and the committee are hoping for a bumper turn out this year as it is the 10th anniversary of the event.
Hopefully, all local clubs and organ-isations will turn out in force to support the event and all those from surrounding towns and villages are welcome to take part as well or come along and see the spectacular array of floats and other attractions of the parade. This year there will be a vintage section to the parade which will include old forms of transport such as cars, bikes, pony and traps etc. as well as vintage machinery such as old tractors. The parade which is one of the highlights of the year for Rosenallis Parish, provides a great opportunity for clubs organisations local business, groups etc to publicise their activities and products.
Individuals are also welcome to enter. All in fact are welcome to participate. With no entry fee and some great prizes on offer plus entertainment and refreshments and some mighty craic going on in the Ramblers Rest later in the evening this would make a great day out for all age groups.
Any locals who would like to get involved with the organisation of the parade are welcome to attend the meetings which take place each Saturday evening in the Ramblers Rest after 8pm Mass. All new ideas and suggestions to enhance the parade will be very welcome.
The committee extends thanks to all those who supported the recent church gate collection in aid of the local St Patrick’s Day parade. Thanks also to those who braved the cold to make the collection
