BALLINKILLEN Camogie Club is hosting a Free Family Fun Day on Saturday next, April 17th, from 10.00am to 12.30pm in the Ballinkillen Hurling Pitch. This day is part of the many events being organised to celebrate the Centenary Year of Camogie.
There will be many attractions with family events e.g. egg & spoon race, three legged race etc. Everybody is welcome to this fun event.
MINI-SEVENS HURLING: Congratulations to St. Brigid’s National School on winning the Mini-Sevens hurling competition in McGrath Park recently. The boys will play in the regional final at a later date.

HANDBALL VICTORY: Congratulations and well done to Andrew Beaton who recently won the county schools U/11 handball championship.
ANNUAL COLLECTION: Rehab Foundation annual church gate collection will take place on Saturday and Sunday next, April 16 and

GRAVEYARD MASSES: The dates for this year’s graveyard Masses are Friday, June 4th, Newtown; Friday, June 11th, Ballinkillen; Friday, June 18th, Bagenalstown; Friday, June 25th, Dunleckney. All Masses are at 8.00pm.
SPRING CLEAN: Pairc Mhuire residents association are holding a spring clean up and brush out tonight, Wednesday, at 7.00pm, all hands welcome. If anyone has Pairc Mhuire hanging baskets please leave them in to Margaret Kane as soon as possible.
LIBERIAN SCHOOLS LITERACY PROJECT: The 90th Infantry Battalion is currently on peace enforcing duty in war torn Liberia. They are also helping to rebuild schools to educate the children and they are looking for people at home in Ireland to help. Corporal Matt Doyle, 52, St. Brigid’s Crescent is currently home on leave from Liberia and he will be returning on Tuesday, April
20. He would appreciate donations of primary school English reading books for four to twelve year-olds, exercise copybooks, notebooks, pencils etc.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION: The Bagenalstown and District branch are going from strength to strength. Members enjoyed an afternoon of stimulating exercises devised by the Go for Life sport and activity team under Frank Fahey. Bagenalstown A.R.A. is lucky to have two members trained in this programme. The leaders are known as Physical Activity Leaders (PALs). Another day of Go for Life using a different programme has been arranged by request for today, Wednesday, April 14th, at 2.30pm in the Muinebheag Community Centre.
